Be careful, Facebook on Android Can "Steal" Data


Network security firm Symantec had found a discrepancy of Facebook app specifically for Android. In his latest report, Symantec claims, the application can "pull" user cell phone numbers without permission.

"Mobile Insight automatically marked (flagged) Facebook application for Android because the phone numbers of the draw," wrote Symantec, as quoted from VR-Zone, on Friday (05/07/2013).

Worse yet, the system will automatically pull the data user's phone number even before he log in or entering the phone number into the application.

The first time you run this application, even before logging in, your phone number will be sent via the internet to the Facebook server, "said Symantec writing.

Facebook party claimed only learned of the problem. Company led by Mark Zuckerberg claims to have taken steps to remove all the phone numbers are pulled from their servers. However, it is not yet known what will be done to close the Facebook security hole.

Symantec revealed, there are many other applications, in addition to Facebook, which has the ability to pull data without user consent. However, Facebook is so highlighted as an application that is widely used by the user in the world.
